Surgery

Our sweet little boy had Surgery Yesterday. He has had a bump on his head just behind his right ear since he was a baby and the doctors decided that we finally better do something about it. Dr. Clausen thought it might be growing some so she sent us to a specialist to get it checked out. We went to see an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor, Dr. Barlow. The first thing he told us it might be was part of his brain that grew outside of the skull. So needless to say I was freaking out. He said it might also be a cyst as well, but until we knew for sure it was to risky to remove. So we took Collin in to get a CT scan. The result came back in a week or so and they said that it wasn't the brain......Thank Goodness!! They said it was probably some kind of cyst and it was safe to remove. So we set the date for March 15th in the surgical center right behind our apartments. We had to be there at 7:15 A.M. Having the time change just the day before made it so hard to wake up that early so we were very glad that it was only a 2min trip to get there! We woke collin up and suprisingly he was happy!! When we go there they did all the prep work then they came and took him away in a little red waggon. He was so cute! He just held onto the sides and enjoyed the ride! Of course I started to cry. Then Scott and I went to the waiting room. Suprisingly the surgery went really fast. It only took like 20 to 30 min. Dr. Barlow told us that it was better than expected! It was a cyst in one of the lyers of skin so it was close to the surface thankfully. They sent it in to be tested to be sure of what it is and make sure it isn't cancer or anything, but he was really sure it isn't. We will get the results in a few days. After the good news we were aloud to go and see Collin. He was waking up from the anisthesia (sp!) He saw Scott first and reached for him. He was kind of crying and sleeping in and out for a few min. I wanted to hold him, but Collin wouldn't come to me. It was so hard. He thought I was one of the nurses it took him a good 5min before he realized who I was. Finally he really started to wake up and imediately he wanted the IV out of his foot so he could get down and walk. We distracted him with some grape juice until they could take it out. As soon as it was out he got down and took off for the door.......He was out of there on his way home!!! It was so funny. He looked like a drunken baby.....very wobbly! He was jabbering away though just like always! After some observation time we got to take him home! As soon as we got home we fed him and he was completly himself again! Scott and I were shocked and amazed! We thought he would be kind of sleepy and out of it all day........oh no he was his normal self all day long! What a champ! I wish I could recover that quickly from surgery!!

Laying with his favorite blanket with his hospital bands on!!

His bandaid

They gave him this soft little ducky! If you can't tell he loved it!

Daddy went and got him a balloon!! His Favorite Suprise!

We also gave him this noah's ark stuffed animal set. They make noise and he loves to copy them!! He is learning his animal sound really well now!

Does this look like a face of someone who just had surgery yesterday??!!!
